what would the difference in sizes do to hair? for example how will i know whether to buy the large brush or extra large brush? is one for longer hair or thicker hair or sumthing?
lastly,...what does it mean by saying these brushes 'control hair well'?

As a liscenced hairstylist, this is a very common styling question.
To acheive a smooth look with little to no volume requires a good natural boar-bristle brush. Raincry makes a fantastic one, in 3 sizes. As for selecting the right size brush for your hair length (hair below the ear is a medium and hair past the shoulder could use med to large size) Take a look at their website. There is an e-Stylist to guide you along to finding the perfect brush for your styling needs. (even step by step videos for different looks)
